Well, today is the start of Tax Season and the IRS has officially started taking e-filed returns! In the past, you might have waited to get your W2s and other tax records together but some processes have changed. Please make note that IF you received Advanced Child Tax Credit Payments your tax preparer will need a Letter 6419 and IF you received the Third Economic Stimulus Payment you will need a Letter 6475.
If you are unable to locate these letters, you can set up an account at http://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account. Once an account is set up, you can access these letters along with other important information your tax preparer might need.
